Catalog description

The Integrated Immunology, Microbiology, and Infectious Diseases (IIMID) I course is three credits. This course provides students with the core concepts of Immunology and their applications in diagnosing, treating, and preventing human immunological disorders and infectious diseases. It also covers the core principles of Medical Microbiology and the primary clinical concepts in Infectious Diseases. Students will learn the fundamental concepts and principles about how innate and adaptive immunity work together at molecular, cellular, and tissue levels to regulate human health and disease in the context of host-microbe interaction and autoimmunity, the pathogenesis of various micro-organisms, and the symptoms, lab diagnosis, prevention, treatment, and complication of major infectious diseases.
