Advanced Scenic Design

Catalog description

This course builds upon tools learned in THTR 22: Beginning Set Design to increase fluency in scenic design approaches and techniques. Focusing on building ideas from texts and music, you will evolve design approaches through research and critiques. Designs will culminate in scale models and supporting materials. Projects in THTR 122 will focus on opera, dance, and musical theatre with unique scenic demands including multiple locations, period detail, and awareness of performance styles and conventions.
