Catalog description

Emergency Poetics in Latin America provides graduate students with the chance to examine art and literature from Latin America and U.S. Latinx communities spanning the 20th and 21st centuries. This approach offers a unique methodology aimed at understanding these cultural expressions within their historical contexts through a transdisciplinary lens. Emergency Poetics utilizes linguistic and formal tools to convey urgent messages in response to imminent dangers, often diverging from established canons. This divergence categorizes works as experimental or impenetrable, allowing them to react dynamically to specific stimuli.
