Catalog description

Aims at developing a lower-division undergraduate introductory course on Japanese religions. In class, students discuss pedagogy and assess instructional technologies to make the course more effective. Students contribute their own selection of materials (readings, visuals, objects, etc.) and together create a course that can be used and customized by all participants. The seminar combines awareness of instructional effectiveness, development of teaching materials, with the study of the most recent developments in Japanese religious studies.
