Catalog description

An overview of various approaches to understanding materiality in the context of religion and of human culture generally, including concepts of landscape and taskscape, object agency, the new materialism, and material culture as archive. Attention is devoted to issues of equitable representation, colonialism and its effects, and ethical practices for the retrieval, possession, curation, and presentation of cultural objects.
