Catalog description

Human language is incredibly complex. In addition to enabling communication, language changes how people think. In this class, we investigate (1) the cognitive processes that help human infants and young children acquire a (first) language, (2) the lifelong social and cognitive impacts of acquiring more than one language -- bilingualism, and (3) how the particular language(s) people think may shape their conceptual processes and thought.
