Catalog description

A dynamic course offering and thorough overview of the most important writers and texts from Brazil, as well as the contexts which generated them. How to read and why read Brazilian literature? The course stresses the role of translation in the transmission of other cultures, ideas and more. Students learn about genres, periods, the context in which works of literature come to be, and what it means to read a work in translation.
