Catalog description

Explore how engineers tackle solving 'wicked problems': problems that are ill-structured, with multiple interdependent variables and no clear optimal solutions. Such problems are highly multidisciplinary, often requiring input and innovation across technological, scientific and societal domains. Wicked problems seem to defy standard and structured solutions, and challenge engineers to develop new ways of thinking and communicating. Through case studies, discussions, and projects we will learn from past successes and failures and determine best practices, while exploring how engineers can prepare to lead solutions to the world's most pressing problems.
