Catalog description

Introduces the basics of design of synthetic biological systems, including the architecture of genetic networks, circuits, and pathways controlling engineered biological function, as well as single-cell microbial behavior, and microbe population dynamics. Also provides a gentle introduction to workflows in biomolecular engineering, genetic circuit design, genomic editing, as well as principles of experimental design. An overview of various engineered and natural biological functions is provided, including multi-stability, biological oscillations, stochastic effects in genetic circuits, robustness of circuit performance, and cellular capacity.
