Discusses the molecular basis of macroscopic mechanics of soft matter systems. Topics to be covered include rubber (entropic) elasticity; hydrogel mechanics, including the effects of swelling and charge; colloidal gel (fractal aggregate) mechanics; and isostatic mechanics, with applications to biopolymer networks.
