Catalog description

This course is devoted to an up-to-date description of the behavior of ions in polar solvents. The focus is on water containing salts and possibly in contact with charged surfaces. While the emphasis is on equilibrium properties such as screening of electric fields, there is some discussion on dynamical properties, e.g. effects on viscosity and response to ac electric fields.
