Inventing Attention

We hear about attention a lot but what is it and what roles does it play in our lives? In this seminar well investigate this everywhere present but sometimes less studied question of attention using models, methods, and artifacts from the humanities. Well explore different approaches to attention as a form of play, experiment with ideas of attention from different historical periods and the present. Well also design (and potentially create!) attention devices that take our class thinking and creativity into account.
