Catalog description
The practice of research is fundamental to being a critical user, producer, and consumer of information. Research often involves navigating information institutions and systems, such as libraries, archives, and data repositories. This course provides students with core skills in developing research projects (professional, academic, and personal) with a lens of equity and justice to aid in effectively navigating information institutions. Students are introduced to major concepts in critical information literacy, research justice, and scholarly communication. By examining their own research processes and experiences, students will have the opportunity to rediscover research as a tool for individual and collective empowerment.
