Catalog description

This quarter-long internship gives students the chance to connect their studies in History with hands-on experience in applying historical skills to projects such as documentation, design, heritage sector non-profits, digitization, public outreach, advocacy, history-related programming, alumni outreach, and data visualization among others. Working with the History Associates and other affiliated organizations in Santa Barbara, students will complete fixed hours of hybrid volunteer work while developing applied historical skills. Biweekly meetings with faculty and community partners will include trainings, practical demonstrations, mentorship, and support for putting training into practice in local venues.
