Catalog description

Studies of media globalization analyze communications technologies and infrastructures that ford national borders and intensify connections across the planetary space. This course focuses on globalizing media forms and formats, platforms, and infrastructures that deepen connectivities and penetrate everyday life, attending to the tensions and conflicts arising around them. Thinking along these two trackshow are media global? and how is the global medial?we read a series of media scholars, listen to/view relevant texts, and discuss our findings to unpack "global media."
