Catalog description

The U.S. is being transformed by dramatic demographic changes, and this includes the rapid growth of the Latinx community. The Latinx population simultaneously is being transformed in ways that pressure past demographic realities and persistent presumptions, such that the meaning of Latinx has become ever more complex. This course examines the discursive, ideological, and cultural intersections and divergences within and among U.S. born and/or raised authors of various Latinx heritagesChicanx, Puerto Rican, Salvadoran, Guatemalan, Nicaraguan, Dominican, and mixed-heritage.
