Catalog description

An introduction to the chemistry of natural organic matter in the ocean, biosphere, and geosphere. Topics include marine organic carbon production and export, fossil fuel formation, tools for identifying ancient life and paleo-environmental conditions (biomarkers, isotopes), and the global impacts of organic carbon burial on global biogeochemical cycles. Some offerings will include a 1 day field trip.
