Catalog description

An Advanced-level studio course focusing on various approaches and applications of dance improvisation. Topics covered include solo and group improvisation, score building and utilization, contact improvisation (CI), and improvisation for performance and site-specificwork. Students are assigned readings and viewings to ground their work in the classroom within past and current theory and improvisational practices.
