The study of literary and material remains will illustrate how the Greeks lived and the values they expressed through literature and the arts. Topics may include the rituals and festivals of Greek religion, the conflict between heroic ideals and democratic ideology, the institutions that shaped public and private life, and the competitive nature of law, drama, athletics and politics.
