Catalog description

An overview of concepts and techniques of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) useful in Anthropological research. Weekly lab assignments guide students through the use of GIS software in order to understand processes of cartography, spatial database design, image processing, and basic spatial analysis. The labs are based on resource material taken from GIS applications in each of the anthropological subfields.
