Catalog description

Explores how issues of gender, sexuality, race, class, and dis/ability intersect with physical and mental health. Analyzes issues in health and disease prevention, sex education, gender bias, access to medicine, the medical-legal system, and the medicalization of identities. Recommended Preparation: Previous coursework in the area of health and illness. Cross-listed: SOC 424 and WGSS 424 are cross-listed. Students may not receive credit for both.
