Catalog description
Covers the neuroanatomical and neurophysiological bases of adult human communication and discuss types of brain injuries (i.e. diagnoses) that lead to acquired communication disorders in adults. Examines the linguistic and cognitive-communicative disorders of aphasia, right brain dysfunction, traumatic brain injury, and dementia. Surveys historical and contemporary literature related to the nature of these communication disorders, including prominent theories. Prerequisite(s): SLP 491 with a minimum grade of C (2.0) or better.
