Explores historic and contemporary portrayals of mental health and psychopathology in film, television, and other forms of media. Also examines common lore, stigma, divergent conceptualizations, and interpretations of mental disorders in popular culture. Engages students in an in-depth study of mental health disorders. Analyzes and critiques media representations of mental health issues and disorders. May not be taken for credit by students who received credit for: PSYC 440-7. Prerequisite(s): PSYC 100 .
