Catalog description

Introduction to the United States (U.S.) health system and its connection to public health and health policy. Emphasizes the structure and function of the U.S. health system and how it impacts population health. Discusses the Social Determinants of Health and how health policy can advance health equity. Provides a broad overview of the many actors in the public health system including community members and organizations, hospital and healthcare systems and government agencies. Prerequisite(s): PH 101 .
