Advanced Psychiatric Mental Health Assessment and Psychiatric Disorders

Catalog description

Advanced comprehensive assessment skills, differential diagnosis, and psychotherapeutic management of clients with common and major psychiatric disorders across the lifespan are introduced. The focus will be on the development of diagnostic reasoning skills and sound clinical judgment. The continued refinement of psychotherapeutic and culturally sensitive approaches in the development of the therapeutic alliance as a parallel process to assessment is emphasized. Enrollment Restrictions: Enrollment restricted to students enrolled in the Master of Science in Nursing Program. Corequisite(s): NURS 583 .
