Catalog description

Introduction to professional and clinical issues in nursing. Theoretical and conceptual approaches to nursing, the nursing process, basic nursing skills, therapeutic communication, legal/ethical issues, basic leadership and cultural issues are included within the context of Orem’s Self-Care Nursing model. Describes the dimensions of the professional role as provider of care, teacher, advocate, coordinator of care, and member of the profession. Enrollment Restrictions: Enrollment restricted to students who have obtained consent of the Director of the School of Nursing. Enrollment Requirement(s): Simultaneous enrollment in NURS 301 , NURS 302 , NURS 314 and NURS 315 .
