Catalog description

Explores the music of Native Americans, Black music in America, West African music, European folk music, and the music of India. Students will be required to complete an anthropological/ethnomusicological field work study in one of the indigenous music styles in Southern California. The project will include interviews with native informants, field recordings, and other appropriate research. May not be taken for credit by students who received credit for: MUSC 421.
