Catalog description

Explores gender, identity and their representations in U.S. film remakes from a global perspective, contrasting with their original foreign film versions. Compares and analyzes U.S. and foreign films emphasizing the framework of intersectionality between nationality, gender, race, class and language. Develops a broad understanding of the interactions among these relevant categories. Introduces film analysis and fundamentals of gender and representation theories. Cross-listed: MLAN 392 and WGSS 392 are cross-listed. Students may not receive credit for both. Satisfies GE area: UD3 Satisfies Diversity & Equity area: DEg
