Catalog description

Reviews the fundamentals of nutrition pertaining to human well being and introduces the field of nutrition which includes the study of carbohydrates, fats, proteins and other essential nutrients. Provides a workable knowledge of digestion, absorption, metabolism, life cycle nutrition, nutrition guidelines, and nutrition programs. Emphasizes nutritional needs and utilization throughout the life cycle, dietary choices and recommendations, influences on eating patterns; integration of nutrition, biochemistry and disease; food intake and satiety; weight management.
