Starting with the indigenous civilizations in the 16th Century, through the period of Spain’s imperial rule, the 19th Century wars of independence, the Revolution of 1910, and up to the present day, students are introduced to one of the most important and fascinating nations in the region. The evolution of economic, political, and social systems are traced with an emphasis on themes of ideology, identity, and resistance.
