Catalog description

Introduces generic quantitative and scientific programming skills needed to visualize and analyze typically large data sets from varying disciplines, with examples from geography and Earth sciences. Focuses on the basics of scientific and technical computing, and the acquisition, processing, analysis, and mapping/visualization of data. Covers basic statistical, linear regression, and time series analyses. Recommended Preparation: GEOG 120 , CS 111 , or MATH 242 , or similar courses . Enrollment Restrictions: Completion of the Lower-Division General Education requirement in Mathematics/Quantitative Reasoning (2).
