Catalog description

Introduces probability and statistical methods applicable to engineering and science. Includes basic probability theory, special random variables and their uses, sampling distributions and the Central Limit Theorem, estimating parameters and finding confidence intervals, hypothesis testing, simple linear regression, and quality control. May not be taken for credit by students who received credit for: MATH 342 , MATH 440 , or MATH 442 . Credit may not be counted toward the mathematics major. Cross-listed: EE 342 and MATH 342 are cross-listed. Students may not receive credit for both. Prerequisite(s): CS 111 and either MATH 260 or MATH 260A with grades of C (2.0) or better.
