Behavioral Economics

Catalog description

Examines the combination of economic theory with insights from psychology. The course is broken into three distinct sections: nonstandard preferences, nonstandard decision-making, and nonstandard beliefs. Each topic examines how people deviate from the standard economic theory, explores the psychological evidence, constructs the behavioral economics model, and analyzes how we can test the predictive power of the behavioral economics model. May not be taken for credit by students who received credit for: ECON 481 -6. Prerequisite(s): ECON 301 with a grade of C (2.0) or better.
