Catalog description

Designed to introduce the student majoring in science to the basic principles of Quantum Mechanics and Spectroscopy as applied to chemical problems. The areas covered include: quantum mechanics of model systems, electronic structure of atoms and molecules, and atomic and molecular spectroscopic principles. Prerequisite(s): ( CHEM 160 or CHEM 162 ) , MATH 162 , and ( PHYS 202 or PHYS 206 ) each with a grade of C (2.0) or better.
