Catalog description

Designed to introduce the student majoring in science to the basic principles of Chemical Thermodynamics and Kinetics. The areas covered include: Basic laws of thermodynamics, chemical and physical equilibria, electrochemistry, transport processes, and theories and experimental determination of chemical reaction rates. Dual-listed: CHEM 401 is dual-listed with CHEM 541 . The courses will be taught together by the same instructor. Students may not receive credit for both. Prerequisite(s): ( CHEM 160 or CHEM 162 ), MATH 162 , and ( PHYS 202 or PHYS 206 ).
