Catalog description

A laboratory designed to give chemistry majors practical experience in standard methods of separation and quantitative analysis. These are applied to investigations of the fundamental topics presented in CHEM 160 , and to analyses with industrial, environmental, or medical relevance. Volumetric, gravimetric, spectrophotometric, chromatographic, and electrochemical methods of analysis may be included. Two hours of lecture. Six hours of laboratory. Prerequisite(s): MATH 160 and CHEM 201L with a minimum grade of C (2.0). Prerequisite(s)/Corequisite(s): CHEM 160 or CHEM 162 .
