Catalog description

Prepares students for CHEM 105 or CHEM 150 . Introduces students to fundamental chemical concepts and quantitative problem-solving skills in chemistry. Topics include atomic theory, chemical nomenclature, the periodic table, stoichiometry, atomic structure, and chemical bonding. Intended for students who have not successfully completed high school chemistry or other preparatory courses within the last five years, or those students who need additional preparation before taking CHEM 105 or CHEM 150 . Enrollment Restrictions: Enrollment Restriction: Students must be a declared major in BIOL, BIOC, BIOT, CHEM, KINE, MATH, NURS, PHYS. Satisfies GE area: 5A
