Catalog description

Introduces the practice and applications of biotechnology in plants and algae. Reviews the basic technologies involved in the genetic modification of plants and focuses on the diverse applications of these technologies, from biofuel production in algae to increasing the nutrient content of crops. Readings from the primary literature and case studies will be utilized to provide an in-depth overview of the current state of the field. Prerequisite(s): BIOT 355 or BIOL 351 .
