Catalog description

Examines how marine organisms interact with their environment with a focus on the pelagic (open ocean) realm. Integrates concepts of chemistry, physics, and geology as they interact with marine life. Focuses on oceanographic and atmospheric phenomena at various scales of space and time. Field trip(s) during or outside of class (including weekends) may be required. May not be taken for credit by students who received credit for: BIOL 596-7. Prerequisite(s): BIOL 354 with a grade of C (2.0) or better, or enrollment in the Biological Sciences graduate program.
