Research Methods in Molecular Ecology

Catalog description

Uses theoretical and practical applications of modern molecular tools to study ecological processes such as soil microbial community structure and function and how these processes are affected by human activities. Students work as teams to study molecular processes in plant-soil systems, and learn how to design experiments, analyze data, and disseminate results in oral and written form. Three hours of lecture. One hour of lab discussion. May not be taken for credit by students who received credit for: BIOL 596-15 . Prerequisite(s): BIOL 354 or BIOL 351 or enrollment in Biological Science, M.S. program. Corequisite(s): BIOL 516L .
