Introduction to invertebrate and vertebrate nervous systems, including anatomical organization. Focus on cellular/biochemical approaches to understanding neuronal development and functioning, synaptic transmission, the specificity of neuronal action and the complexity of nerve system functioning. Prerequisite(s): BIOL 353 , or enrollment in Biological Sciences graduate program.
