Catalog description

A survey of the unmanaged and managed tropical terrestrial ecosystem and the biotic (living) and abiotic (non-living) factors that affect tropical ecosystem structure and function. Emphasis will be on the community dynamics and biogeochemical cycling of tropical ecosystems, and how these processes are affected by land-use and land-cover change. BIOL 383 is dual-listed with BIOL 683 . These courses will be taught together by the same instructor. May not be taken for credit by students who received credit for: BIOL 683. Prerequisite(s): BIOL 210 , BIOL 211 , and BIOL 212 .
