Introduction to the understanding of global biodiversity and the basis for geographic distribution patterns of individuals, populations and communities. The role of past geological and evolutionary events on these distributions will be considered. The considerable impact of humans on modern local to global range extensions will be studied including the basis for biological invasions. Prerequisite(s): BIOL 210 and BIOL 211 .
