Catalog description

Introduces the archaeological study of landscapes, spaces, and places in a global perspective. Subjects include defining and surveying archaeological “sites” with traditional and emerging technologies including tape and compass, digital photography, and GIS. Also covers ancient household organization; ceremonial landscapes; gendered spaces; place and community memory; spaces of authority and resistance; bodily movement and the built enviornment; and ethical debates surrounding cultural heritage sites and other important places.
