Catalog description

Survey of the history and theory of filmmaking, video production, new media, and the moving image. Acquisition of practical and critical skills through study and analysis of theoretical discourses framing past and current issues surrounding moving images. Films and videotapes from diverse cultural, ethnic, and social concerns throughout the world will be screened, analyzed, compared, and contrasted. May not be taken for credit by students who received credit for: VSAR 422. Satisfies GE area: UD3
