Catalog description

Provides an introduction to museum studies and curatorial practice. Presents the role of the curator as no longer limited to museums and galleries, but includes the selection, collection, display, and maintenance of a collection of any form of media in real or virtual spaces. Offers an introduction to the roles of the museum in contemporary society, and hands-on experience planning, designing, installing, and publicizing museum exhibitions. Off-campus visits to local museums and galleries required. May not be taken for credit by students who received credit for: AMD 380-3, VSAR 380-3.
