Approaches art history thematically from ancient times to modernity. Explores the role of art in public spaces, the concepts of nature in art, as well as the intersection of art with other areas of knowledge such as math, science, and humanities. Provides preparation for upper-division work in Art and Visual Culture. May not be taken for credit by students who received credit for: VSAR 121. Satisfies GE area: 3A
