Catalog description
Introduction to the language of the visual arts through a comparative study of various artistic styles, cultures and ways of seeing. Emphasis on sculpture, painting, installation art, photography, architecture, film and multimedia, and their cultural contexts. Explores art from across the globe, including Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas. Through various participatory visual and written exercises in class and visits to art sites, students will learn the fundamentals of the visual arts and how the arts relate to their lives. May not be taken for credit by students who received credit for: VSAR 120. Satisfies GE area: 3A
