Catalog description

A thematic and topical exploration of humanistic expression in the past and present. Students are introduced in a comprehensive manner to basic concepts, techniques, and methods of creating and analyzing works of art and literature from various cultures, in various forms and media, and across geographic and temporal boundaries. Content varies each semester. Students experience the arts and humanities as active viewers, listeners and participants, with selected readings from primary texts that are linked to visits to art museums and attendance at live performances (such as concerts, theater, opera). May not be taken for credit by students who received credit for: GEH 101 or GEH 102. Satisfies GE area: 3A, 3B (Course can be taken for either 3A or 3B credit, but not both.)
