Catalog description

Each student will spend three weeks on an ob/gyn inpatient rotation working directly with an ob/gyn physician and family practice resident in one of the hospitals listed above. Additionally, the student will spend three weeks in an ambulatory (outpatient) setting. In these settings the students will have the opportunity to hone their skills in patient care, medical knowledge, communication, professionalism, health care systems and personal development in the context of adult primary or inpatient care. Special emphasis will be placed on having a good working knowledge of pelvic female anatomy as it related to reproduction, labor and delivery as well as infectious and oncologic issues. Each student will have a checklist of conditions/skills they are expected to participate in and obtain signatures validating their participation.
